Do I need to get any new bushings or hardware or whatnot, beside grease for the leaves, when I put on the lift stuff? front or rear?

Probabaly gonna go see Chris this weekend and give him money for truck parts :taco:

That's up to you really. I'd replace shock bushings, but your leaf spring bushings should be ok. Just grease the leaves up a bit to reduce squeakage.

While you're down there, you might as well seek out all grease zerks as well, and hit those....

Oh well shit, yeah, if you didn't buy a new kit that comes with extended u-bolts, then yeah, you'll need those.

You've actually posted some very good input Q, thank you!

but....wtf is a zerk fitting? That a normal grease fitting that I can buy any of the shelf grease gun and lube with?
I've heard from several people I shouldn't need extended U's since I'm just putting in an AAL. But I've also heard my whole life from my piss-poor excuse of a dad that anytime hardware is removed from leaf packs, that it's needs replaced with new. so....:notsure:

Bumper and his barely used rear 5100's from Chris @presta24
OME 90000 and 885 springs with 60k ish on them for front came from Daniel at LBL @totmacher
New Deaver AAL from @HeadStrong Off-Road with supplied center bolts and some other hardware, haven't fully unwrapped them yet so I wouldn't lose stuff

And that's all I have on hand for now

You will NOT need longer U bolts for a single leaf AAL. Some people will tell you that U bolts should never be re-used. They apparently have a very fertile money tree. Use 'em again. Torque and re-check torque after a couple hundred miles. Then forget 'em. Stock U bolts have about an inch extra threads. You will be adding slightly less than 1/2". Call it good. I've re-used U bolts several times. NEVER had the 1st issue.

Zerk's are regular grease fittings. Your truck will have a grand total of 5. 2 on front drive shaft, 3 on rear shaft.

Yes, the grease fitting is called a zerk.

and, your piss-poor excuse of a dad is correct, as the threads stretch once tightened. That's not really something you want backing off whilst traveling down the road at 55+ mph...lol.

Luckily, since you have a second gen, if it does get floppy, at least you'll have enough power to toss it in 4wd and pull it off the road....

He's from right down the road. He does commercials for a car lot in Mt Washington. I've got to meet him on several occasions. Amiri (pronounced like "emory" except for the A at the beginning) belongs on TW. He'd fit right in!

I realize I sound like a complete idiot asking that, but I've only ever in my life always called them a 'grease fitting'. Never by their technical name. Different strokes
