If you want mud flaps and don't want to break the bank, look at the Husky ones. They're 10x better than stock and I clear 265/75's with them on with no problem.

    Two things:
    1) I'm not a metalworker by trade, so don't expect top quality lol! Material would either have to come from scrap or be bought and taken from inventory.

    2) Rubber molding is done with custom molds that are machined. I would only have easy, non-production stopping, access to scraps. Or again, material bought and taken from inventory.
We've went to ISO 9001, so nothing 'falls off the truck' any more.

However, as I typed this, I think I may have another income opportunity to present to the CEO for my company since sales slowed with all the mines closing across the nation.

They tried making compound bows years ago. Problem was, the guy running that side ripped off the Matthews cams DIRECTLY! What an idiot!

So, I would need to develop something entirely different, or mostly, than all other suppliers to avoid a lawsuit.

That would require use of the machine shop and some damn good stock, ain't making no junk. Or one of the engineers who also has home machine shop, but he resigned last month. He usually liked me well enough though...maybe...

But yes, that is something to consider too. Thanks for the idea!

I need to know what the proper material is. I just need flat sheet stock that is tough, pliable, weather/temp resistant, and that I can cut to shape. I can't get a straight answer from anyone.

I was just thinking that if you could make a compound bow, you could most likely do pulleys

Honestly, not sure how many total were produced. I'd say around 100 before Matthews caught wind of it.

We also have a foundry, our sister company Richwood Investment Castings

We make something called 'skirtboard rubber'. It hangs on the sides of conveyor belts and keeps the material on it. It's somewhat flexible, yet rigid. That came to mind when I think of making flaps.

This is turning into a "what can dirty make at work?" thread lol! I likey!

Serious, you guys come up with a list, a solid start of promises and I'll pitch it to the big man once I get my eggs in a basket and ducks in a row.
