After moving to miami I have started to get a lot of black, spots from my exhaust on my paint. I took a look at it while it was running and I had a lot of condensation. Is that the cause this? I do a lot more small trips now, which would explain the condensation.

Here's a picture of it. I just want to make sure it's not a fuel or oil problem.

Alot of short trips, mean the truck is running more in open loop, so its going to run more rich. Soot around the pipe is normal.

Thanks chris! What is "open loop" mean?

All of those black spots/splatter is from the exhaust?! That doesnt even seem like it could do that. Doesnt really make sense to me. Some black discoloration would be normal, but not that splatter imo.

Open loop, is when the enigne ECU (when cold/not up to operating temp), ignors the signal from the O2 sensors, and gets its Air/ Fuel data from the Coolant sensor, and/or the MAF, or a pre programmed MAP. Closed loop is when the engine is up to temp, and the ECU is getting its Air/Fuel data from the O2 sensors. When in Open Loop, the engine runs rich, to aid in warm up.

Yeah, that's all from the exhaust. Makes a real mess...

Got it, basically I'm going to run rich and burn more fuel while running around.

If all the trips are short, yes.

    You mean too much oil?

I have the stock air setup right now.

Had mine changed at a dealer once. They did not drain the old oil. mpg went down and had the same oilly specks on the side of my fender. When i drained my oil it over filled a 10 qt pan all over the driveway. After that all was good once again
