Lol first pic isn't dirty. I let my truck get dirty to a point, just a small layer of dust...don't care. I wash it and its dusty in 2 days even if I never leave the pavement. But going up snowboarding through the mountains with snow and slush it will just pretty nasty, so I feel the need to wash it then.

I always liked the look of a nice, dirty truck that's caked with mud. But if you're gonna drive around dirty, make sure its looks DIRTY, not like someone upchucked on the side of it. But clean is nice too. That way the back of your pant leg isn't always dirty from getting in and out and you can touch it w/o lookin' like you fell in a mud puddle lol. I won't lie, Muddy trucks look badass.

I try and keep my truck as clean as possible. But if I just went offroading or something like that, I'll keep the dirt as a victory badge for a little while.

Mine is a 2nd Gen but I usually like it clean but the other day it was covered with brown dirt from unpaved roads and it looked like a damn good truck.

OP, looks like you've half-assed both the clean and dirty pics.;)

But remember this, it's a truck, it doesn't need to be lowrider show clean (you know, with mirrors on the floor to show off the chromed coil springs and skidplate). It should, however, be clean enough that it doesn't get *you* dirty when you drive it, and the paint should be kept reasonably clear of dirt and water spots (that end up damaging the paint if left long term) but if you ArmorAll the tires, I will kick you in the nuts. :D

Dirty is good, for about one day after wheelin. Then I like it clean throughout the week.
IMO, Black paint is the worst for offroading (or regular upkeep) it shows every brush and stick scratch, looks like someone keyed you truck.

    Doesn't happen much because I can't really afford the $20 car wash.

I care more about keeping the undercarriage clean than anything else.
