The Magnaflow needs the hangers welded back on. Bailing wire is magical.

My fart pipe is being vacated currently ;)

Yeah it’s stupid. Why couldn’t we have kept the 4.0?

Fuel economy for people who just use their trucks to get to point A to B which is 90% of their customer base. 4.0 mpg is pretty bad as far as mpg go.

Keeping the EPA happy. A 2-3 MPG advantage on paper, even if not in reality, can help the CAFE ratings. It all about the CAFE.

There's been slow phase out of the 1GR for sometime in North America. It's easier to phase out an engine during a model change. It began 1st with the current Tundra's redesign. The 1GR as the base engine was replaced by the 4.6 V8 with similar MPG...especially in a big heavy vehicle like the Tundra. Plus the 4.6 and 5.7 L V8s are a modular design...meaning the block/bore are the same...stroke being the difference. So there's cost savings there.

Next was the current Taco. The 1GR went away with it's redesign.

And last to have the 1GR (dual VVT-i version shared with the Tundra and FJ) is the current 4Runner. There's nearly a 100% chance that the next gen 4R will have some version of the 2GR

Sub'd. Looking at a TRD exhaust, but would rather support the mod community if I have the opportunity.

Acoustic and vibration are areas most companies ignore. Helmholtz resonator can do wonders dampening resonances. Sounds like this will be a quality and well thought out product!

I'm down for that. I prefer the single side exhaust also.

Crazy thing, everyone in tundras knows it as ‘helmholtz resonator, so I’ve always gone with it.

But the math says it’s a ‘quarter wave acoustic stubbed resonator’.
