Do you have any performance numbers? How much hp or torque does one setup gain and what setup gains/loses the most?

do u mean those dead end tubes that are perpendicular to the main exhaust flow? helmholtz refers to the what happens at the perpendicular part when the main flow passes it. basically its like when u blow across a coke bottle. makes noise/vibes

in what i do, thats bad.

so tbh i dont know what its on an exhaust for. destructive wave interference?

We had massive drone problems at first over on the G8 forums once we started modding our exhaust systems, especially the guys who went to the Magnaflow setup. Many built Helmholtz chambers. Basically fighting sound with sound. LENGTH of the Helmholtz chamber was critical in the design. Different exhaust setups have different frequencies, requiring different chamber lengths to kill the drone.

Being that there will be varying exhaust setups among those on here that build their own, and variances among those that can be bought, would you consider engineering your Helmholtz chamber with a slide in it so that the chamber length can be fine tuned once it is installed? Similar to a trombone, but with a system to lock the slide down when the optimal length is determined. Probably don't need more than 3-4 inches of adjustment, that being +/- 2inches from the length you were going to build it. That way we don't have just a cookie-cutter drone-killing option, but rather, a tunable chamber that we can each fine tune to the length that is optimal for what we are running.

And then we discovered that if you left the axlebacks on the G8's that you could pretty much do anything to the exhaust you wanted, including full long tubes, with no cats or front mufflers, and it would run like a scalded dawg, but no drone. Just by leaving the factory axlebacks on the system. But some guys just have to remove the axlebacks too, therefore the Helmholtz chamber. I kept my axlebacks.

I'm in as long as it doesn't sound like fire breathing through a kazoo but I think you have that taken care of with the resonator!

Is it safe to assume the y pipe with exhaust and no drone is still in testing and not available?

I'd love to see how this turns out. Hopefully there is a stock/quiet version. I'm too old for the brap brap crowd...
