After 24 years with my '95 I finally broke down and bought a new 2019 access cab. Now I just need to figure out how to keep it from beeping at me all the time when I'm out camping. To try to get the open door chiming to stop, I removed the small push switch for the drivers door. This is actually on the access cab door but the drivers door compresses it. (In the picture, the white string just keeps the connector from falling into the door so I can put if back if needed). Removing the switch on my '95 made it think the door was always closed and the same seems true for this truck. The only downside is the interior light doesn't turn on when the door opens but that's not a big deal to me. I have a few questions though...

1 - The truck still knows when the small access cab door is open and I can't see how. Anyone know where that switch is? Maybe integrated into the latch or a magnetic sensor somewhere? I looked around but I don't see anything.

2 - Is there functions in the Carista/OBD app that I could use instead. Looking online I couldn't find anywhere that said Carista could disable the door open chime.

3 - What is this other larger switch for, next to the one that I removed? It doesn't seem to do anything.

There are no programming functions that kill this chime. The door sill button push seems to only work on DCs.

    So, your options are:

-- if you have a physical key, there is a switch in the key barrel that you can remove. I hear something prime when I put my key in there, so that is not an option for me. This should be reversible.

-- remove the speaker from the back of the cluster. This is generally not reversible and you will loose the turn signal tick and other sounds.

Note: your larger 'switch' is just a spring.
