HATE the unnecessary (to me) "beep-beep" when using the keyfob to lock or unlock the doors. Anybody know how to turn this off?

Apologies if this has been discussed already, but the second beer made me lazy:notsure::D

Seriously! And the damn DRLs, too:rolleyes:

It used to be that their business model revolved around keeping you out of the dealer. Guess they figured out that they make more money the other way around... but it is ANNOYING...!

    Thanks guys

It's just a personal thing for me, whippersnapper. I like to buy a car, do the routine maintenance myself, and go to the dealer as infrequently as possible! I must be getting old...;)

If you want to reduce the volume significantly, you can roll up an expanding-foam earplug and put it into the beeper hole in the little beeper at the front driver's side corner of the engine compartment.

I suspect you could just disconnect that if you want it silent, but I can't guarantee that wouldn't have some unintended consequence.

Also wondering if it is possible for dealer to disable chime for leaving the keys in the ignition while opening the door when the engine is off. Thanks in advance.

Door unlock/lock "beep" .... lift hood .... mounted towards the right front .... hit your fob .... listen/look for the beeper ... unplug/remove.

    Beeper removed:

The problem with having the dealer or a shop do it is that the equipment to perform those functions is very expensive, (to the tune of several thousand dollars a month in subscription/update fees) so just about any time they plug it into a car they will charge a flat fee of $20-$50. This is when it helps to have a friend who works at a shop that can just plug it in and let you play with it :)

    open driver door
    insert key into ign
    remove from ign
within 5 seconds reinsert key and turn ign switch on
after 10 seconds MAY give you an answer back buzzer
within 10 seconds after that hit a transmitter button twice to change the setting.

I did not get an answer back after 10 seconds but it does work.

    Thanks, Taco Mike!

If only they had made it this easy to disable the seatbelt beep...!

whoah, awesome! I searched quite a bit when I first got this truck because I figured there was a way to do this, but I never found an answer. I quit using the keyless because I hated the beeps so much.

    worked on my '09!

I just did this on my 12 as well...Took me a few times to realize you have to leave the KEY in the Ignition while doing the last step. (press any button on the fob twice)
