I looked though this forum and couldn't find a way to disable the beep that goes with the keyless entry. I found it on a youtube video. Went out and disabled the beep in about 30 seconds.
This should work from a minimum of 2005 to at least 2010. Not sure about 2011-2013.

Step one: Keep driver side door open. Insert key into ignition and take out.
Step two: Put key back in ignition w/in five seconds. .
step three: Turn to the "on" position, not the acc position and wait 10 seconds.
Step four: click the "lock" or "unlock" twice as soon as the key is in the "on" position. You should here one continous beep for about a second.
Step five: Take key out. Get out of truck. Shut door. Try your keyless entry button. You should get no beep but still see the parking lights flash.

Good write up ... this works as well ...

    Step 1: lift the hood
Step 2: hit unlock and/or lock button
Step 3: find where sound is coming ... hink - near the battery

    Step 4: unplug
    Step 5: tape over plug

Think you can unhook the battery for a few minutes and it will reset it.

After having the beep disabled for nearly 8 months, I turned it back on. The process works for both turning the beep on and off on my '13.

Why would you want it off anyway...just curious. I like hearing it so I know the doors are locked.

At the time, my parking space was next to a neighbors bedroom window and I left for work at 4am. It was just a courtesy thing. I have since purchased a house and it's no longer an issue.

Does anyone know if the 2006 Tacoma has the beep with remote feature?

    step three and four conflict.

Do I immediately pushed a button twice when I switch it to on? Or do I wait 10 seconds as in step four
