I found the belts from a junkyard 2017 Corolla are the same as 3rd gen tacos.

Should this method also deactivate the seatbelt chime on ignition? I always wear a seatbelt when driving so I don’t care about the main alarm but I almost always hop in and turn on the truck before I buckle up to get the AC and music going etc and hearing that beeping first thing every time I get in the truck drives me crazy.

Just used a OBDII adaptor and Carista to disable the seat belt alarms but disappointingly this particular alarm seems to remain!

A long time ago I was offered several "seat belt extenders". These were Toyota 6" long. I like that they change the geometry a bit and makes it easier to plug in/remove and I dont have to 'hunt' to for the receiver between the seat and the console. So, I forgot to remove these when I sold my '05 and bought my '23 Tacoma. I mentioned it to the service advisor at my 1st oil change. He asked "how many do you want, one for each seat?" and I had to ask "how much". His reply is "free"... so I asked for 4 thinking I'd share 2 with friends. I picked them up the next day, no charge! One of my friends is a cop, and a little overweight and wears his B.P. vest with gear. He says its the best option he's seen and has had his department order them for all of their Dodge SUVs.
As long as the extension is plugged in, you will not get a seat belt chime, nor will the door chime if you get out to open/close the gate, get the mail or chase the dogs.
For the money (free) it's a great mod!

The low washer fluid light remains on Canadian models.
Anyway, just get the dealership to change the seatbelt alarm setting on your next oil change. Takes a couple of minutes and sets the driver seat warning to 5 beeps on startup, passenger to “never.”
