Here, this is easier than pulling it up.

    1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
    2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
    3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
    4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

This does NOT work on late 2011 - 2013 Tacomas.

You can only turn it off with the Techstrean software that the dealer uses.

Take it to the dealer and request they turn it off.

Didn't know that. Guess it's Toyota's way to make sure you pay more at the stealership than doing something easy yourself.

Step 1: Sit in vehicle, start engine.
    Step 2: Fasten seat belt.
    Done.

    :D

I'm about to take mine in for an oil change, and I'm going to ask them to do it then.

    Removed the damn stickers!
You can also go to the dealer and ask for seat belt extenders for fat people. They are for free! Cut the webbing off them and stick them in the buckle. Problem solved. If you want to wear your seat belt just remove them and buckle up as normal.

If you can get your dealer to remove chime via programming (some refuse) be aware that if you disconnect the battery it may revert back to default and you would need to get the dealer to remove it again. 2011 1/2 -2013 vehicles (white faced gauges) only. Early vehicles can be done via the user programming in previous post.

Could you just unplug the sensor thingee under the seats? or perhaps complete the circuit for it so it thinks they are in? I should read up, I'm sure that's been covered.

I finally decided to try a clean setup of Techstream. Perfect, super easy.

    1. Install VirtualPC.
    2. Install Windows XP mode
    3. Install Java 1.6 update 7
    4. Install Techstream
    5. Copy the cracked MainMenu.exe over
    6. Install MVCI driver

    Finally customization worked. Awesome

Less than $30 delivered. You need a laptop running XP.

Win 7 will not work- - that's why the poster above installed XP in a virtual machine.

Techstream MiniVci has limited ability to configure the vehicle. Limited changes including seat belt chimes are available.

It's a good reporting tool, however. It will give you lots of operational info down to the PSI in each tire.

They did it during my charger install so don't know. Have heard of it being free during one of the 5k services.
