If you have minimal metalworking skills, do what I did for the passenger side: take a piece of 1/8 aluminum and carve a seat belt buckle plug. Works on either side, but I prefer the unplug fix for the driver side.

If you have white gauge faces, it will not work. Bummer I know

I don't have white gauges or at least I don't think I do. 2011 DC SR5 4X4 is what I have. I tried it and it didn't work unless I'm doing something wrong ??

I don't know what to say to that...
The gauges are either white, or they're not. hehe

If you really are having difficulty determining the color of your gauges you can look at the build date that is located on the sticker in you drivers side door jamb. If the year is 11 then you cannot disable the seatbelt warning chime.

I know it's tough to read all the posts in this thread, but everything has been discussed before...

See post #260 for my solution.

Is this considered white faced or is the inverse considered white faced?

^ Hayes, that's not the white gauge face. Not going to lie, if I'd known they'd have more awesome gauge faces 2 months after I bought my Tacoma, I might have waited. Ah well, I still love my Tacoma.

So the point of my post: I had trouble with the procedure posted by the OP, I did it about a gazillion times and no dice. This one has a couple extra details that may have been the problem. Worked the first time on my 2011 (with the black gauge face):

    1. Turn the ignition switch on (without starting).
    2. Press the ODO/TRIP switch until the odometer displays "ODO"
    3. Turn the ignition switch off
    4. Turn the ignition switch on
    5. Press ODO/TRIP switch immediately, within 6 seconds of turning the ignition to ON, and hold it down for 10 seconds or more.
    6. Continue holding the ODO/TRIP switch and fasten the front drivers's side seat belt.
    7. Check that the odometer displays "b-on." Release the button.
    8. Press the ODO/TRIP button to change the display to "b-off".
    9. Turn the ignition switch off.
    10. Turn the ignition switch on while depressing the brake pedal.
    11. Check that no buzzer sounds when sitting on the front passenger seat.

The chime still dings for about 5 seconds at startup, but stops after that.

Also, to facilitate buckling the seatbelt, I pulled it across my lap and under my right leg to keep it from retracting before I started the above steps, then I was able to just buckle it without trying to pull it across my lap while holding the odometer button. Good luck.

nut posted just above you. And it's been posted here.
Scan tool disable. Ask the dealer. If they won't find another.
Or get a seat belt extender and plug it in.
