Had to pull the battery for SAS reprogramming from alignment. Did this once before on my 2011, and it worked perfectly once again!

Can a scanner or techstream be bought so that one can do this themselves? I'd like to have not only disbale my seatbelt chime, but also be able to change tire size speedo correction.

Chime can't be turned off on the 12's or 13's for the driver side seatbelt even with the Toyota Techstream. Doubt your gonna wanna buy one, they run $5k and you gotta pay a monthly membership fee to Toyota. Techstream can not correct your speedo, that stuff is built into the vehicle ecu and can not be modified unless you install a speedo healer

I bought one of the mini VCI cables from China that came with the techstream software and disabled my seatbelt chimes with no problem.
    $35 well spent IMO

Both seat belts? If so is pay you the $35 to turn mine off, I have unlimited access to tech streams and their software and can not turn it off. Tried it with several new Tacoma's also

Yes it can. I turned my chime off ( driver and passenger ) in my 2012 Access Cab. Used Techstream Version 7.10.030.

Yes, both. Maybe it's a Kalifornia thing.
Arnold probably didn't know what he was signing.

Just so we're talking about the same thing.... It DOES beep 4 or 5 times when I first start the truck, and the light stays on, but it NEVER beeps again.
I suppose if you're interested, I could take a screen shot tomorrow.

Interesting, I think we might be running older versions since we're about to upgrade to the new techstreams

I'm aware of the initial beeping when you first turn on the truck, we're talking about the same thing. Might have to try a different version of software before I give up

I just spent two hours at the dealership trying to get the seat belt chimes and the keyless entry noises turned off - no dice. They were happy to try, no claiming liability issues or anything but they said there were no programmable features on my taco. :(

I have a 2013 DCLB TRD Sport. I called another dealer and he said that SR5's pretty much always worked but that other trim packages were finicky, he wasn't sure if he could do a TRD Sport. May have to try there but they want $57 to do it.

Of course, the Washington dealership where I purchased the car, they were outraged that I asked to disable a safety feature and said that what I was asking was illegal. :)

I'd love to hear someone with a 2013 TRD Sport say they managed to get the belt chimes off. I'm wary of spending money on software and cables to change it myself since professionals said they couldn't do it.

According to Jimmy and others in this thread you just have to have an up to date software to disable the seatbelt chimes.. I'm going to try on my inspection visit to longo toyota next weekend.

Also I have what looks like the exact same truck as you and I was able to disable either the honk on l/ul or the beep on l/ul.

Glad to hear you had luck, majorhavock. It doesn't seem worth it to fiddle with the dealerships considering the wealth of knowledge on TW and $20 of electronics/cables.

I was too cheap to buy components to talk to the truck and a little impatient so I ended up pulling the circuit out of all the buckles and getting rid of the little spring. Took some jiggering on the passenger side but everything seems to be acting normally sans beep - the airbag light and weight sensor behave exactly as before.

The hound dog can now flit from front to back seat without incessant beeping which has been good for my continued sanity :)

For 2011's and up. Pull out gauge cluster, find the little speaker on the back, remove it, no more chime.

That's the first time I've heard where the annoying dinger is, thank you! I'm happy enough with my solution for now but if I ever have to pull out the gauge cluster, I'm going to hunt down the damned buzzer.

I was trying to find a pic to show you were its at, but can't locate one. You'll notice it when you take the cluster out, it kinda sticks out. Next time I take my gauges out I'll post a quick write up on it.

Even though this was years ago--THANK YOU. Goddamn, I tell you, it was killing me, and the dealer was insistent that disabling it was impossible. I also still wear my seatbelt, I just hate the ding! GAH!
