Well, I for one appreciate the ding if key is in ignition and driver door is opened but definitely did not appreciate all the noise for belts so the procedure to turn it off is much better than ditching the beeper and being locked out of your truck if you happen to get out without the key and lock it not having the beep to catch you....not that that has happened nor will it.

Holy s--t!!! I can't tell you how many times I've told my passenger "give it a few minutes, it'll turn off" only to have it come back on when they shifted their weight a little. I was thinking of disconnecting something like my old Taco, but now I don't have to. I'm about to go get a tooth filled, but I don't even care. I can't wait to come back out and not hear that annoying beep. Thanks for the mod Clemson.

Another reason this forum is filled with awesomeness. Just did the "fix." Nice to be able to find this info so easily, and good step by step directions.

    Thank you!

My girlfriend ALWAYS takes her seatbelt off like 20 seconds before we get to our destination and the beep drives me freaking crazy, if this works +!

No! This menu modification sequence worked on my 2011, but does *not* work on my 2013. I have tried several approaches, but cannot seem to access any menu items on my 2013.
I may have to make some "receptacle plugs" if I cannot find a menu solution...

I made my own, and they work very well on my 2013 model, *but*: While this device works fault-free on the drivers side, it will not work (well) on the passengers side. There appears to be some sequential requirement - in terms of having the door close, the seat weighted, and then the clip engaged - in order to get the passenger side air bag to activate. In other words, leaving the clip in the buckle will cause the system to "be confused", and the passenger side air bag may, or may not activate.
My wife and I have been using the false clip for a while now, and about 70% of the time, the passenger side air bag light indicates that it is active. 30% of the time we have to gently lift our butts off of the seat, then sit down again, to get the air bag light to indicate that it is active.
Just be aware of this if you chose to try these devices.

    Take it to the dealer.

Mine was free, done in less than 10 minutes.

They plug a laptop into the truck's port, change a setting, and you're done.

Super easy... the idea of cutting wires/rigging a brand new truck is crazy.

If my dealer was as cooperative as yours, I would do just this. When I inquired about this during a scheduled service (on my 2011), the service manager wanted $75 just to access the module.... I will inquire again when my '13 model is due for its first service (I don't drive much).

    Pretty much stock
you can buy the cable online and it comes with a pirated version of techstream which will allow you to get into the ECU and disable the warning chime. I just did it on my '13, the cable was about 25 bucks on ebay. If you were close i would do it for you.
