The odo method discussed here (to disable the seatbelt alarm) worked on my 2010 model, but I just traded for a 2015 and it doesn't seem to work on it.
If anyone comes up with some new info please share it. Thanks

^^ Word. Tried the ODO method on my '14 and it didn't work. Of course, I wasn't expecting it to work.

For the 2014, take it to a Toyota Dealership and ask them to disable the chime. It takes 5min. They have to hook it up to a computer and turn the option to OFF.

I was able to disable it using the trip button in the cluster with my '08. But apparently with the '12 or '13 and up you can do it only with the Toyota Tech stream scan tool. I know people so I'm going to try and get it done. I usually only disconnect my seatbelt while driving in the neighborhood or off road so no big deal.

Took my 2014 in for a oil change/tire rotation (free under warranty) last week and asked about turning the seatbelt chime off. They said sure $62.00 dollars and sign a safety waiver.

Before I could stop myself I said fuck you. Last time I buy any accessories from here.

Not normally a rude person, but the 62 threw me for a loop.

Can't wait to try this, I tend to put heavy things on the pass side and that beep gets old fast.

I'm trained to fasten the passenger seatbelt when I have stuff on the passenger seat, no more beep.

    Yes, worked on mine.
You would not have hurt anything just by trying it.

Are there any opinions regarding the cables needed to use the Techstream software?
Is the $$$ spent on a better cable worth anything in the end?
I just did a Google search for them and it looks like it came up with way more buying options than I anticipated.
    Thanks in advance,
    TjB

In that thread, there is an Amazon link to the device that others (including myself) have purchased.
