There's a hack involving turning the car on clicking in and unclicking the seatbelt that only works for a 2008. I need a solution for a 2012.

I'm not sure about 2nd gens, but on my 3rd gen I disable the seatbelt alarm by putting my seatbelt on.

    this works on a 2009:
1)turn battery on (but dont start truck), click ODO selector button till ODO is showing (ie, not Trip A or Trip B)
    2)turn battery off
3)get seatbelt ready by pulling across body, but not engaging.
4)turn battery on (but dont start truck), then immediately press and hold ODO selector button for ~12 seconds
5)while still holding button, buckle seatbelt
6)ODO display should now read "b-on"
7)let go of ODO selector, then press ODO selector once
8)ODO display should now read "b-off"
    9)turn battery off
    10)done

this will reset if you ever unplug your battery.

In my 2014 I used Techstream to disable my seatbelt beeping. I used a pirated program for this though (w/cable). Great for checking my ECU software version (since I didn't have the most up to date one) and getting rid of the beeping.

You could ask your dealership, but they may be reluctant to do so.

2012+ trucks you need to use techstream (or a putty terminal with the proper commands) over OBD to turn off the beeper. only 11- trucks can you turn it off with the ODO function.

I just tried this on my 2011, and it didn't work. I never saw "b-on" or "b-off". Do you perform step 5 during step 4, or after?

Techstream looks expensive. Anyone have any luck with dummy seatbelt tongues? I'd be fine with that route. I thought about going to a junkyard to get one, but there aren't any close by.

I buckle seat belt while still holding the button, after ~12 seconds of holding. One other note I forgot to mention.. dont press the brakes at all during this procedure (not sure why, that was included in the directions I got). Battery should be to ON position (ie, the second click, not ACC). As soon as the dash lights come on, start pressing the button, hold for 12 sec, buckle while still holding the button.

I just did this in Bub's 2010 Pre-Runner. This also works for the 07 FJ. Thanks for the tip!

When I'm on private property I just buckle it behind my back.

Always buckle up on the road, it's not worth dying for.

I took the thing apart, the little white plastic piece that triggers the switch, I can't remember what I used, but I glued it down in the position it's in when the seat belt is clipped in. That was like ten years ago.
