My first time participating in a Form.

    I just purchase a new 2018 Tacoma Sport 4x4.

Still have my old 03 Tacoma with 300k miles and I'm afraid to sell it.

I work in construction and find this truck with many flaws and I am considering selling.

    1. Driving the truck and trying to maintain 70 mph the truck is constantly shifting. The new Tacoma is to heavy for this small motor. Try to carry some construction material and your in for a real disappointment.

    2. The new tail gates are so fat when you climb out of the back of the truck your foot slips off the bumper.

    3. The sport hood blocks your vision when driving. When off road and driving over a small hill you lose complete visibility. Also make it tough when parking in tight spots.

    4. I am average height and every time I get in the truck I hit my head on the ceiling, this is not a truck for tall people.

If I new this before I purchased the truck I would not have of bought it. My 2003 was the best truck I have ever owned and its painful to report this about my new truck but I wanted you to know.

    “I wanted you to know.”

Hahahahaha. Seriously, 3 times a day someone comes on here to bitch about a third Gen. this thread is getting LOCKED!
    :locked:
    Didn’t you test drive it? Most of us and i mean 99.9% love our 3rd Gens (and i had a 2010, and I have a 78 FJ40)

If you really hate it please sell it and move along. But seriously didn’t you drive it first? The hood scoop didn’t just appear.

Oh and the transmission needs 5k or do to learn before the shifting problems go. It’s been mentioned here about 30k times.... and I’m 5’9” and my head is no where near hitting.

Oh engine doesn’t wake up until almost 4K, this truck has much more power than your old one you just have to find it. Also use the ECT button it’ll help if you think you need more.

And I’m sorry but who buys a Tacoma for “construction” my last three trucks were 2500 Crew Cab American one was a Diesel. If you need a heavy duty truck you kinda missed with a Tacaoma. You don’t see Tacoma commercials bragging about payload or towing for a reason...

    1. i dont have crazy shifting after the last tsb, but if you do then put it in sport mode that will keep the
truck in 4th gear or 5th if you want. no more constant shifting
    2. i just hop over the side
3.you will find many people here will want to trade you for your hood
    4. agree, im about 6' i have to duck some. no problem in the 4runner though

I'm guessing you walked into the dealer and just said I'll take that one, no test drive, just get this guy a credit app and get him out the door so he can beat the dinner rush to to Applebee's because that's eating good in the neighborhood, as the wife is high on stress at Wal Mart because school starts soon and the box tops for education well the Mexican maid threw that shit out last week so his little boy Connor is not going to look like the school hero on day two as Miss Jennifer plugs the box tops program on the first day of school, because the school is broke, because a few Chevy owners were like fuck books because we only sleep with our sisters as Water Boy was this populations Rain Man

....honestly I'd run if I was you. Lol I just don't get it..no time to take a test drive but decided this was the time to join an Internet forum nd highlight things that would have been apparent upon test driving the second biggest investment in ones life

That’s why they allow you to test drive the trucks before purchasing them to make sure it’s what you want. No sympathy here. Also, they have the off road version that doesn’t have the hood scoop. Maybe they did that for a reason. Also, there are tunes and TSB’s offered to improve most of what you are complaining about. But again, test driving a vehicle is like #1 thing everyone should do before purchasing a car or anything.
