My first car was a '66 Chevy pickup with three on the tree. I got my license in 1992. But I was in Houston, Texas so the scenery was a little different.

if this warranty is a toyota warranty covered by all toyota dealers then yes that is a good deal.

I still dont see how the truck got driven for the time it did if it shuts off immediately if there is no oil.

Not going to happen. No way they would set up a video camera just for you. Go ahead and try to sue over not putting in a video camera for you. You will lose that one.

Only to get ASE Certified as a parts specialist. To get certified in the primary 8 as a TECH, you have to work as an apprentice, turning wrenches for a shop to get that certification.

Probably best scenario for you op. Who knows the truck could run fine for 5 years and 100k and then suddenly boom. But you don't have to worry now you are fully covered.

Great end to the story-- It's good to hear about dealerships doing the right thing.

Removed factory bed cover and installed UnderCover Elite. Added LOCKERDOWN console safe.
I am a GM in a Toyota store and have done this before. I suggest you get a "Toyota" Extended Warranty (at no cost) instead of "lifetime unlimited warranty for the power train at no charge" that is NOT a Toyota warranty. The Toyota warranty is good anywhere in the US and at any dealership with no questions.
Now the longest you can get is 125k miles and that is what I would want.

    It's written down as a powertrain warranty, i.e. all transmission/front diff/rear diff included? :D

That's good, but to maintain your new warranty, does that mean you'll have to let them do the oil changes for your truck for the rest of it's life?

... In other words, after your freebie oil changes are used up, you must continue to bring it in, but pay the oil change service fee.

That new deal is nice, especially if you can change your own oil for the years to come while staying on new warranty.

The tools are readily available, and the procedure is not difficult.
If the filter is positioned properly, it's a much cleaner job than changing the filter on anything prior to the 4.0's top-mounted filter.

Also on the 2010 Highlander 2.7 Liter like my wife has.

And No it not hard to do at all you just need an oil filter wrench that fits. They can be ordered on-line or from your local automotive parts dealer. Easy as drain the filter can with the hose provided in the new filter box, unscrew the lid, remove the filter cartridge, install new o-rings that came with the new filter and reverse the disassembly. Takes actually no longer than my truck 2.7 with the screw on filter.
