I just got my 2009 Tacoma about 3 weeks ago. I love the truck, but I've noticed some discoloration on my upper driver's door panel. The first thing that went through my mind was that it was oil from my arm resting on the door while driving. However, this can't be, as I have been wearing long sleeved clothes ever since I got the truck.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I'll try to post some pictures as soon as I get time.

    Thanks!

first thing i did with my truck was scotchguard the heck out of it including that door panel fabric. no stains or discoloration so far

I'm talking about the black plastic along the top of the door. Sorry I wasn't clear in my previous post.

    Thanks for the reply though!

that is a great idea... wish I would have thought about that before my mother in law spilled her coffee all over the seat and carpet!!!!!

Managed to clean it all up but did not make me feel any less happy.

Mine did that where I had the sticker informing me that I should only go 5mph with the lockers on. Try taking a non abrasive cleaner to it. It may be glue residue.

    She's gone but not forgotten.
Maybe try Oxyclean. It got the chocolate stains out of my kids seat. And that ain't easy.

My truck is the same way. It is just the gray pigment in the plastic not completely mixed so you get the appearance of some streaking or fading.

not really a solution but maybe after using a protectant ( I use 303 ) it won't be as noticable or seen at all.

^ 303 for sure. Dark gray is notorious for looking like hell as it fades over time.

Thank you all for the advice. I'm planning on trying to clean it again today after work. Hopefully it is just some sort of residue from one of the "new car" stickers.
