I have a 2017 Tacoma with factory radio. We want to get Sirius channels off the screen. We used a trial subscription and do not want to continue. When I go to touch the volume control if my finger touches the screen it switches from FM station to Sirius asking me to subscribe. Really inconvenient and annoying. I pulled the radio out but saw no obvious Sirius disconnect option. Any suggestions or is this a dealer software issue?

Reply: I don't know how else to respond to replies. Thanks all for suggestions. Wires unplugged and problem solved.

There are two satellite radio connectors on the back of the H/U. If you pull them, the app icon wonderfully goes away. There is a thread around here somewhere showing which two connectors that it is.

Just program AM/FM favorites in place of the XM channels. You don't have to unplug anything

They are talking about the icon and option of xm in the list of tuner options. If you use the steering wheel to switch between am, fm, and cd getting the xm pop up about subscribing is pretty annoying.

Unplugging the 3 plugs from the box on the bottom of the radio resolves this annoyance.

This harness right here is linking the radio to the XM module. The XM module is the silver box bolted to the bottom of the radio. If you unplug this harness from the radio (remove the radio side so you dont have live wires hanging) then all will be resolved.

Three? The other being the antenna input?

My harness had 3 plugs in it, let me go find my xm module real quick.

Okay. This is funny. I didn't realize it was a small harness. I tucked away the ends, but I will go back in and do this. Cleaner for sure.

    Thanks!

Just remove the xm presets. Also, you can reduce the number of presets that display on the screen.

This is the XM module (case was removed, so this is just the chip inside) But there are 4 plugs on my XM mod, 1 being the antenna.

Sirrus / XM are a giant PIA. I had it on my truck and in my car. Decided to dump the truck subscription and will do same on the car. Spent two hours on the phone with them when I wanted to cancel the truck. Told them to transfer remainder of balance to the car - they said there would be a service charge to do that - so I said just cancel it then - then they backtracked and said they would transfer it. Can't wait for another two hour conversation when I dump their ass for good when the car subscription comes up. Worst customer service ever hands down. No one there speaks English and if they do they are dumber than a sack of rocks.

You could always swap the head unit for one of the Joyings that does Android Auto/Carplay. I dont think they support satellite radio so your problem would be solved.
