I need to remove the radio/AC bezel to modify the ashtray to fit my CB radio, but the only thing keeping it in is the passenger disconnect switch.

Is it safe to unplug the wiring harness? I really don't want to mess with the airbags but I'd rather not get plastic dust all over my interior.

    I have the battery disconnected.

Disconnect battery and let sit for 10-15 mins, then disconnect. Won't hurt anything.

    Thanks!

Is it the same procedure for reconnecting it? Do I need to take any special precautions?

Reconnect the connector you took off, and connect battery. No real precautions I know of.
