looking at a 2016 off road double cab SB 4wd arriving at a dealer soon. MSRP is $38524
What is going rate for this MSRP. Most they will take off is $1000. Claim is demand is high and most dealers are not knocking off much from MSRP.

    Any input would be great
    Thanks

I got mine with tow and premium tech non jbl for 35,700. There are a few threads about pricing already. I'd suggest checking them out.

If demand is high and they can sell it easily at MSRP or with $1000 off, why would they take less? As a seller, I wouldn't either, I'd try to get full market price and if someone was dumb enough to pay more, well, I'd take their money, thank them, and shake their hand.

As A salesman, wouldn't it be nice to sell a model with a lot of demand and a high retail/MSRP over a slower selling model that sells only if you discount it a significant amount?

A lot of the price differences can also be attributed to where one lives, lower demand in one location sets a lower price over an area that sells them as soon as they hit the lot. There may also be price differences based on geographic regions due to equipment variations or select model offerings. [or certain model specs may just be totally not available at all]

Getting close to the end of the month, quotas need to be met to unlock the pot of gold!!

I've lightly checked around & $1000 off MSRP seems doable at most our area dealers, hoping for more like $2200 off, as some have said they have negotiated .
I am starting to think much over $1k off MSRP as my goal & I will never get my '16. Going to wait a couple months, then hit it hard. Hoping inventory is a bit higher by then.

Every dealer will tell you the "best" they can do is MSRP, and every other dealer but them will be a couple $1,000 over MSRP. They are lying; it's part of the negotiation process.:duel:

I got several to match a TrueCar quote of $350 off MSRP; then I tried Costco.... Wow, I have not asked, but I doubt any of them will match that price! :)

I was given an offer of $400 over invoice by one dealer (my family has dealt with him before so he knows us) for an off-road 4x4 with tow and premium tech non-jbl. I talked to another dealer that is closer to my house and told him the offer I had on the table and he replied with "It's not even worth my time to try and beat that. If I were you and that is a real offer, I'd jump all over it." So I called the first dealer back and told him to order it.

We got 500 off msrp in socal. We took it and the truck will be here in late December. It was the only one allocated to a dealer 2 weeks ago in the entire region.

The pricing threads are almost useless because are not saying where they live and where they are buying the truck. I also think some of them are lying

Why would people lie? Look at truecar. Plenty of decent prices have been recorded.

    What's your location Josh?

Seems GST is offering rebates on some of the '16s and have been for a while. I can't think if rebates are being offered, at least in this area on certain trucks, supply is that tight.

    Here's a 2016 DCSB 4x4 OR with tow package...$500 cash back.

Many will quote the price they paid for the new truck but that's only part of the equation. If you have a trade and most do, that can heavily influence the price of the truck. Sure you got $X,XXX below msrp but what did they give you for your trade? A dealer can afford to give you a great discount on the new truck when you're willing to except a low figure for your trade and vice versa.

    Bingo.

I either sell the "extra" car as private party, work the deal as two transactions (purchase vs. trade in) offer no trade. Additionally, I always find the invoice (including holdback for sale and finance and any other factory to dealer incentives) and work a % or hard $ profit on the new unit being purchased...understanding the dealer needs to make a profit.

This means nothing without a location. Also, no truck has a 4900 dollar difference between invoice and msrp

I was emailed my request at Invoice price for my Sport form a distant dealer and took that to my local dealer and offered them $500 more. They did not blink Ordered the truck, found on going to another dealer and snagged it marked it sold. Total cost was $500 over Invoice, $300 Sales Tax $75 Title.

There are dealers who will work deals but you have to know how to play the game. Loyalty and giving them the service business goes a long way to getting deep discounts. If you only see the dealer when you have a problem and do your own oil changes and do not buy or pay for services there, They WILL stick with MSRP

You should be able to get somebody to deal at $1500 off MSRP, but anything more may take some work. Be firm at that and you are both getting a reasonable deal. I wound up getting mine for 35,750 out the door. That included 1400 in taxes, $600 doc fee and the 900 dest fee. DCLB 4x4 sport with tow and nothing else. You can fight for a better deal, but your time is worth something.

This means nothing without location of sale.

I'm going to keep saying this until people catch on and start writing their location with their prices

Why does it mean nothing without location? Location will only account for taxes. Taxes and fees were included with an OTD price in my post. AL, fwiw (SET) no trade.

Invoice may not change with location but, supply and demand does...I think Eric is correct.
