I understand, but this guy believes that a negative experience equals a "made up" story.

 Can hear a lot of people saying just this. Actually, I'm half your age and while it doesn't bother me on the net, if someone in real life walks up and talks to me starting with those I usually look at him like - great - prepare for the BS that follows.

I have to say that Discount Tire Direct definitely changed my perspective on the company. Even though my initial experience wasn't the greatest, they have made up with their support. Have to say thank you Matt for listening to my concerns and appropriately dealing with the situation! If you received a bad experience at your local DT, I'd suggest contacting the manager/corporate. I know I'm going to get blasted after creating a rant page and then saying the complete opposite, but that's how it went.

The store I originally bought my tires in (Mooresville, NC) could not get them balanced right (3 tries) - had vibes from the rear wheel, when I moved I got them rebalanced (for free again) by DT in Acworth, GA and they did a fantastic job - they also told me if I have another issue they will order in 4 brand new ones, up to 3 years so I can't complain at all.

    Shit happens

I have to agree. I didn't realize corporate was very serious with their branches otherwise I would have contacted them when all this occurred.
