If toyota can't even fix transmission lags, why on earth would I spend 1K on a warranty for a highly rated truck? Sounds like wasted money folks....

I feel you brother. I probably felt the same way as you do when I stumbled upon this thread. I said 1400 for my warranty. I ended up getting rid of it and getting a prorated refund which was 1100. This was at 26000 miles and two years down the road from purchase. I really wish I would have found this thread before hand..

 

Call me stupid nut I am a little confused about how this works. If I remember correctly I have the Platinum 6 year warranty.

 

I picked up my '10 Access 4 cyl yesterday and had the finance rate and loan approved before I picked up the truck.

They asked me about the 7 yr/100 mile Platimun and I told them the price from Troy. So they lowered my interest rate by a full point and reduced the warranty price and it came out to $1008. So I would rather give my business to my dealer so I got it.

 

Just spoke to Troy today. I ended up getting the 8yr/100K Toyota Platnium Extended Warranty $0 deductible for $1105. How can you go wrong for that kind of money?!?!? Just piece of mind to have my truck covered by toyota for 8yrs or 100k. 1 time something goes wrong it just about pays for itself. Then again it is a toyota and the reliability is awesome but just in case!

 

The $8k was paid by your accident insurance right? and not by the extended warranty.

 

I have an 07 4x4 with 42K miles on it.

Can I still purchase the extended warranty or am I out of luck?

This might be a crazy question, but what about a group buy on extended warranties? I need to make a decision before April if I'm going to get one or not, so any additional savings could help me make up my mind...

 

Hey I am buying a 2006 DBL Cab TRD with 36k on the clock.....the finance guy called me with a "special deal" as the truck is certified and low mileage.....1449.00 for 7yrs/100k "wraparound" . I guess this is some sort of bumper to bumper....anyone heard of this...I didn't listen too much as I never buy extended warranties... Any thoughts..

 

Yea he wants $500 more than the guy from Handy Toyota on here.

 

Sorry for the delay. The wrap is available to certified used Toyotas at the time of sale. It turns the 7/100 powertrain warranty into a platinum plan. I usually can't do them unless you contact me as soon as you take delivery or unless it's still in it's 3/36. These are DIRT CHEAP, 1449 is a "special deal" for his commission, not for you. I work on commission too but there's no need for that. My price would be $795.
