Do you have to bring the truck to the dealer for every bit of service they recommend in the book to be covered by this? Or is this like an extension of 3/36 bumper-bumper? I do a lot of my own work. Say the front diff craps out and I changed my own fluid at the correct interval. Am I covered? Or some other example like that? Has anyone used it after the 3/36?

I would say no for the service. my truck has never been back to the dealer since it drove off the lot,and it is an extension to the 3/36000 as long as you purchase it before the 3/36 runs out

As long as you are not past the year/mileage of your original warranty, you should be able to buy an extended warranty. (US 3 year, 36K miles?)

    Email Troy for quote -
    http://www.fd-warranty.com/index.html

Mine was 7 year, 100K miles, $0 deductible, OEM Platinum plan, $850 US
($100 more for me as from Canada)

quoted $889 for 7 year, 100K miles, $0 deductible, OEM Platinum plan for my 2009 4x4 TRD OR. That is much better then the local dealership price.

Anyone ever had to make a claim on one of these warranties? Did they pay 100%?

Does having any mods on your truck have an affect on the warranty and whats covered? IE; lift, wheel, tires, CAI , etc

State of Florida considers this an Insurance and thus dealers claim they are not negotiable in price. If I buy it outside Florida cheaper is it still valid within the state?

    thanks

Toyota warrantees are good all over North America. We did a claim on a Corolla air conditioning problem and in Canada, the only difference was they called the U.S. 1-800 number.
As for individual states - it seems each one has more local laws than you can shake a stick at compared to Canada - but this shouldn't affect a national /international warrantee.

Anyone ever buy from this site, or Agent? Is this really a manufacturer warranty that is serviceable at the dealerships?

I am working with Troy from that site now to purchase a 7yr/100k warranty. This is a toyota dealer selling Toyota warranties. Its the same one you would have bought when you purchased the truck new.

Yes. Read above. It works in Canada. Canadians can buy from Troy after 1 year. Ridiculous to do so though unless you're at the end of your warranty mileage. Buy in 2nd year before warranty is up.

Not many other US dealers will sell extended warranties to Canadians - Troy is the only one I've heard of.

I just bought my 2012 double cab trd sport from riverside, lowest guy would go was $1080.00 for 6 years or 125,000 miles and the guy started at $2400.00, so a haggled down the price you would say thinking I got a good deal. So I agreed to it until the next morning my Mercury Insurance agent told me I should go back to the dealer and cancel the extended warranty and re-do the contract. Your asking why? Well Mercury sells extended warrantys whole sale to there customers. I got full coverage for $460.00 and an extra 200 for the back up camera. So total of 640.00 saved over 400+ dollars. My warranty covers everything on my truck for 7years or 100,000 miles. I compared the two because the finance toyota guy said the Mercury doesnt have certain things the toyota plan does. Well after comparing both my Mercury extended warranty covers the same as toyota's plus some.

Any advantage to doing this rather then buying it ASAP? Will it cover stuff that is not in the factory warranty?

I am apprehensive about any internet purchase. I called and spoke with Troy about my concerns and it made me feel better about the purchase. I put mine purchase on a credit card, faxed him the needed info, and in just a few days I had all the documents mailed to my home. You have 30 days to cancel if you are unhappy with your purchase and it will only cost you $25 if you do cancel within that time frame. best warranty out there in my opinion.

My dealer was telling me they wouldn't accept it, because they wanted to sell me their own. After talking with the service mgr and Toyota they both agreed they would/could not refuse a warranty that was actually offered by Toyota.

Go ahead and do it and you will be covered.

    Good luck
