    If you decided not to buy at time of purchase @ inflated dealer price & wait to buy a Toyota plan from another dealer ie say from Troy, the disadvantage is the price may go up some during the 3/36.

    I waited til my 3/36 was almost up, bought from Troy, the plan had increased from $790 to $880. Other dealers accept it & if you trade your truck in, you can cash it in. That is what I did when I traded in the tacoma for the Tundra.
    Within 3 days, Toyota Financial Services cut me a check for $480.

    Seriously considering this... Do both of these dealers still offer these warranty deals?

    Im going to most likely buy one, the advantage of getting it now is if Toyota bans dealers from selling on the internet like Honda did.

    Sounds like I'll pull the trigger on the highlander. I just have a quick inquiry, anyone that bought their extended warranty from either of these guys put it to use yet? I'm sure they have I just want to hear a few testimonials.

    yep, from Canada....bought ECP from Troy, used to repair air conditioning compressor blown after regular warranty on Corolla ran out....paid for itself with one repair.

    By the way, see you're looking for an ARE tonneau....you might want to shop around for a different brand. Had one on a previous truck, practically waterproof. Put an LSII on 09 Tacoma, leaks like a sieve. Installing shop tells me they're all like that and won't adjust. bull.

    @reg boulette
    Thanks for the input on both accounts. I think the best tonneau I've come across is armor lid brand but I wanted one I could paint.

    Bought the warranty, 8 year 100.000 warranty from Jerry, seems like a great deal so far.

    If I bought the warranty from the dealer in august on a new vehicle for around 2400, would I be able to save more than a few hundred by cancelling and going with a plan through these businesses for anything less than 1k?

    5k miles

    Thanks!

    Yes maybe, I bought mine just prior to my 36k mile warranty expiring and it saved me almost 1k at purchase over my dealers price.

    But you will need to see what it will costs you to cancel and weigh the difference..

    Call and get an updated price, then see what it costs to cancel, then make a choice.

    Many have gotten theirs from Troy Dietrich courtesy of TW (myself included). Prices were the best I could find and it was painless to get. I waited almost a full year after I purchased my Tacoma to get it, and the price was the same he quoted me a year ago. I have not had to use it yet, but from everything I've read and seen here at TW, it's a genuine platinum package. Here's his email...I hope this help.
