I have a 2018 with the fence mesh grill and TSS. I don't mind the look of it, it is at least better than the 16 and 17. But I was concerned that it was going to be TOO open and bugs and debris would get though. Sure enough, I looked this morning and am starting to see dings in the radiator fins. I have about 2000 miles on it so far.

Soooo... $140 for the chinese version, plus $80 for the TSS garnish sound about right? Haven't been following the 4 million posts on the pro grills.

On the plus side I'll be down to a single sombrero logo! Man, I hate that logo. Too bad the one left is on the damn steering wheel.

    -Chris

*other than "it looks cool, man!" Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I feel the same way about the sombrero logo on this truck. Center caps on the wheels? Okay. Steering wheel? Whyyyyyyyyy?

Now this bad boy on the other hand:

So you are saying that the holes in the Pro grill will magically stop the bugs from getting past it?

The pro grill can be electrified. Allowing the owner to bug zap any incoming insectoids. :laser:

I agree. Anything small enough to go through the factory grill but too larger to go through the pro, will probably just make its own hole to go through

    My legit reason pre-dates yours:

The stock grill was ugly. Was all the reason I needed.

Have y'all seen the 2018 grills up close? There is more not there than there. The holes are like 1" wide by 2" tall. I'll need a new radiator after every love-bug season!

A bug zapper though... I'd pay for that just for entertainment reasons!

How people try to use logic to justify the illogical is amazing.
When I want something I don't need, just want, I simply get it. Simple. If I can't afford it, I don't get it.

I like the way your logically logicking ... now 1 question.... how many mods for your Tacoma did you buy and not able to afford at the time of purchase?

    For me .. I think 1.. and it was a little pricey - $100 for a Bro-Pro shift handle.

If too may bugs are getting thru, put some screen behind it. If you use metal mesh, you could definitely electrify it
