Discovered an advantage to not having an auto-loking tailgate.

    Squirt some wd-40 in it once in a while and it'll be happier. Mine has a little rubber cover to go over the key hole too.

    2016 Tacoma TRD sport - still waiting...
    I'm still waiting to get my Tacoma... Now going on 3 months... But with my current vehicle I can actually leave my keyfob in my glovebox or centre console then use the actual key to lock the compartment and then lock the door using the key and it locks all doors at that time. If I press the button on doors it stays locked as it does a "override" with using the key to manually lock the doors. So then there is no need for these safes or hiding them in the box.
