I liked the show! but I'm with some of you guys.. how is this guy going to avoid prosecution?

I may or may not know a guy that makes shine and he acts just like the guy on the show.

Popcorn's dead man. He did an interview with Johnny Knoxville before he died, think it was his last one.

    RIP Popcorn!

The bits on Popcorn are clearly from some other production and they did say he'd passed on.

Imma give it one more watch before deciding. But I can't see it as anything more than cat and mouse stories.

If it's good shine, it's awesome. Yes, kinda "taste" like tequila, but the shit makes you "high" not drunk. Used to have a pretty good hook up, not any longer. And I "think" you can distill so much in certain states, kinda like brewing beer, not really legal, but no one s saying anything.

Oh yea Im not saying it is. I havent tried store bought yet but I dont see how it could compare to what ive been raised on. Apparently still only sold in Tennessee is a legal shine that is directly popcorn suttons recipe.
This article goes more into detail.

your right. that stuff is basically vodka.

The moonshine I may or may not get is made from fruit. peaches or apples usually. Corn is traditionally used because getting it in bulk is cheaper. so basically what you get is unaged bourbon.

I'm pretty sure if your getting shine, it's 100% corn, now lots of folks flavor there stuff with all types of fruits, peach, apples, strawberrys, cherries, pears, or what ever. But mash is corn, sugar and yeast.

Shows a farce, come on now, they put a still in the back of a pick-up and half-ass cover it with a tarp. Hey, ABC boys are dumb, right ? Kind of like "storage wars"......the same 4 people bidding and winning every week.

    neglect, mostly.
what you're getting is fermented with sugar. ive had it, not that great. it's cheaper and more safe to make cause it's less prone to unwanted bacteria and there's not a chance of these things called alphatoxins in it, which can be common in corn that has been improperly handled and gotten wet. real moonshine (even the stuff in the store) is made from corn meal.

im not even making a joke here, but make sure you know where it comes from if you ever do. it's an unregulated item just like drugs. poorly made moonshine can make you go blind. that's why i would never take some from just some guy at a party or something like that.
