Ah... right. So you can't do it NOW which is what I thought you meant. You could do it in the future assuming you get that particular DVR. Then again, you could do the same thing with cable or satellite just by getting a slingbox. Don't have to get Dish to do that, and I'm betting Dish is gonna charge a lot more for that. Bigger, fancier unit, and the ability to place shift your shows. I see this as a monthly fee that'll quickly add up to more than the cost of a slingbox. Sorta like the $5/mo they charge me for DVR service even though they gave me one of the oldest DVR models.

Echostar owns sling media. As of this time there is no talk of a monthly fee for the sling technology in the new 922.

Well that's good to know! My current DVR (a 522) is kinda flaky.... Freezes and sticks sometimes so I might just upgrade to the 922 when it comes out.

Had a scheduled install today for sometime between noon and 5PM with Dishnetwork. I got a call at about 7:35PM last night to tell me they couldn't make it. I would have to wait till the 18th. Obviously too late to reschedule any meetings I had canceled, so I called Dishnetwork and canceled the installation. Too bad...Was looking forward to the Turbo HD Gold package. :(

On the DirecTV remote hit the green and red buttons to go ahead or back in 12 hour incriments. Nice feature. The DVR scheduler is awesome. Use to to set the DVR from work when I forget to do it.

I've had Dish for 3 years now (3rd winter) and never thought about getting a heater for it. :notsure: Never really needed it. Service goes out more in heavy rain or snow storms than from anything collecting on the dish.......so far. :D

After doing some research...found some covers that the signal goes through. We might get a cover for the winter only.

We haven't had problems either, except after it snows and the snow lays on the dish. We lose HD and the standard gets pixelated. We have to clean the snow off with a broom. If we don't clean it off, sometimes it gets frozen to the dish like thick ice on your windshield. It's the HD - we hate loosing HD signal. :D

ah ok. I don't have HD so I couldn't tell you. :D But I would assume that higher quality signal might be more susceptible to interference.

Janster, they do have the best HD pic quality that I have seen, except for an over the air PBS station with a good, stong, well engineered (governmenet paid for) signal.
