Check out the app iOverlander. It’s got a lot of user sourced campsites. I use it a lot and it’s pretty good.

Around this area you’re really not going to find any dispersed camping. Legally anyway.
Your best bet is to look for nice state park/county park/private camp grounds, or travel farther away.

I just spent the July 4th weekend at Bald Eagle State Forest in Central PA. They have about 40ish campsites through out the forest. You have to call or email to get a permit but they are free. The closest site to mine was about 1/8 mile away and that was about as close as any of them get. Each site has a table and fire ring but other than that it would pretty much fit your bill.

Second for bald eagle state forest, it’s an amazing place. Perfect trails for a stock or lightly modified rig and free camping! Here is my last trip report from there: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/bald-eagle-state-forest-pa.670749/#post-23547119
One needs to reserve a permit to camp in advance, but it’s free and easy.
lots of options in the Adirondacks, some of the southern NJ pine areas might have trails but not much for camping, legally that is. North jersey has camping but it ain’t free, and not much for trails that are legal.
