The list is long but distinguished
We are looking for a some dispersed camping recommendations in the Honeydew, Humboldt Redwood State Park, Fortuna area. It will be me and a couple of my 4R buddies.

Not looking for your super secret spots but any info you feel comfortable sharing would be very appreciated.

Many of the state parks don't allow dispersed, unless you're talking about backpacking. Not as familiar with Humboldt and the other SP's up north, but the state parks websites have great info.

My best bets for dispersed have always been National Forest and BLM land. I'd look into the FS website for the ranger districts closest to your area and satellite view on your favorite mapping site. Best of luck!

I’d be cautious near honeydew in that state park area as you know it’s a lot of pot grows in the area, sometimes including government property. If you’re backpacking there in the SP then I think you’re good to go. If you’re trying to disperse camp with your rig, I’d recommend the kings range (BLM) or head out to the Six Rivers NF up the Route 1 (starts/ends from Berry Summit and Mad River). Humboldt has grows everywhere so just be on your toes in the woods lol

Six Rivers National Forest used to be open for dispersed camping. Grew up camping along the river near Willow Creek and the Trinity lake area. There are some nice spots but it’s further inland so I’m not sure if that would interest you. If you go a little further north, I spent a lot of time camping along the Smith River up near Crescent City. Sand camp was one of my favorites. It is in the Jedediah Smith State Park area. Patrick’s Creek near Gasquet and Harris Beach near Brookings Oregon are also nice...

Lol. I was out exploring Plumas NF and making my way back towards Paradise when I hit a town called Concow and suddenly I'm driving past communities of trailers and RV's with 8-10' high fences. You bet I turned around and went the other way.

Can you elaborate? I'm not exactly sure what you meant. Are you saying that it is high crime in that area?

It just looked super sketch, likely I came across a community of pot growers. Be careful out there guys.

Kings Peak Road area has some sweet spots. Do the right thing, get a free permit.
