Any body got some recommendations for good camping spots out in the Mojave? Hoping for something not too crowded. Was at Johnson Valley a couple weekends ago and that was pretty busy.

    Pic for attention:

Yup, I was in the western half yesterday in the dove springs, red rock canyon state park. Plenty of spots out there I saw.

There’s so much free camping in the Mojave! Download Gaia and just look at the area you want to go.

No clue really on canyon names.
Going north on pavement, took the first dirt entrance to where the tunnel is supposed to be. After getting out of there, we drove further north to the 2nd turn off, but did not venture up that road. Getting stuck once was good enough for the day.;)

Coming in off the 14, the 1st is Last Chance, Mesquite is muuuch easier.

Completed dove springs to jawbone over to the visitor center. Didn't explore too much, most was perfectly groomed dirt roads over there.

    Yeah, sorry should have clarified!

Was thinking something relatively close to Palm Springs area, but not opposed to heading further north near Bartsow
