Can you use the OEM display unit as an external monitor with this setup? Using a USB C to HDMI cable or an adapter, then plug the HDMI end into a USB-A male adapter and connect it to the USB-A female port on the dash. Running 22 SR5 Android ver 9.

I’m going to guess no… but that’s based off assuming the head unit has no clue what to do with a video signal on a usb port.

I’ve considered how to do this as well. My thought was to put an a/b splitter on the rear camera input to the head unit. Then I could use my anytime camera setup and feed it an external video or camera. You’d have to make sure your video source was converted to analog of course.

No. Just look at the extremely limited media formats the deck plays off a USB drive.

Doubtful, connecting the HDMI to the USB-A seems like a downgrade in signal and as mentioned above, the head unit probably doesn't know to read it.
What are you trying to use it as a monitor for, your phone?
