I run premium, so it is similar…diesel sometimes is lower here. Though do live in the land of diesel, lots of AG where we are.

Diesel turbos tend to take more abuse than gas turbos. Of course DEF systems really kills the reliability of the oil burners. Be interesting to see how the new engine fairs maintenance-wise. Probably a wash is my guess.

Be nice to get a work mate version of the Tacoma here. Not all of us are Pro Bros…

I am planning on getting the Ford Ranger XLT in the 2.7 turbo V6. So that is where I am at. Saving up as we speak.

Jokes on you I have 3 pedals. Or maybe I'm the joke for only using 1st and 2nd. Am I supposed to shift to 3rd when I'm bouncing limiter in 2nd? :notsure::burnrubber:

You should return your truck; there's no way you are fitting into the seats with legs like that.

I’m one of the few guys on this forum to have tubbed-out my firewall in reverse. Massive legroom now, but I’m stuck running 235/50/16

You could have gone 205/40R16 and really stretch out.

Meh, wait until the second or third year of production for the bugs to be worked out. Obviously going to take awhile to know if the Tacoma reliability will be there with these engines.

The 3.5 liter isn’t even 10 years old yet, so long term reliability is still somewhat of a question mark for this engine.

However, the 2024 has addressed most of what Tacoma have asked for. Updated suspension, better frames, more performance. The Turbo wasn’t necessarily in those parameters, but not a surprise either considering North American engine trends in the last decade. Diesel wasn’t happening either, and we all knew that.

The 3.5L V6 is nothing special at all, so the turbo may not be the step backward some on here are thinking it will be. Glass half full approach here:)

The 2.4 turbo has been in use for several years....reliability is excellent.

Imagine if Toyota got with the times and actually made it a BEV with 650+ HP and 65+ MPGe, that would have been sweet.

I have a set I just took off, I'll take $100 each if you're interested. Paypal, venmo, myspace, out of state cash. All payments excepted. I'll even take a bad check.

Meh, I have a 3.5 sedan engine. Now if I had the 4.0 I'd really be sad.
