That blows. I have been thinking of putting my ball in there to make the damage to their car worse if someone were to do that to me. Was your ball installed at the time? If so, I bet their shit got messed up pretty bad judging from the damage to your bumper.

I used to leave mine in for protection but I would forget it was in and walk around my truck and bang my leg on it. I took it out.

My ex BIL backed into a fire hydrant one time at a restaurant. Good thing he had his hitch LOL saved his bumper.

Either that was an awkward accident or you didnt have your hitch. I figure the latter.

i was hit a couple weeks ago pulling out of chick fil a by a pontiac G6. long long story short no damage to my truck but the lady called the cops and said itd be a hit and run if i left. well the cop told me its not against the law to ride with your hitch while not towing but only common courtesy to other drivers not to do so. b/c if i didn't have my hitch there would have been less damage to her car.......RIGHT ill get on that dumbass

that is the reason i leave it on while not towing. so no or in your case less damage to mine and yes she was on the phone AND eating a waffle fry...

Sucks bro. I don't exactly have a ball on my hitch but instead a hook. Should I get tapped im hoping my truck will rip their bumper off. Food for thought. :D

I have the same thing and I kind of want to see what it would do to the front of a car, but really don't want to try it.

I was keeping the ball on there for that exact reason. I dont know if it did too much to help but i do know when i pulled up away from him it took a big piece of platic with me as well as his license plate.

Was thinking about a plate bumper, but i cant swing the cash for the front right now and that wouldnt look to great IMO.

fun stuff coming soon! New battery, radiator and CV joints and axles. Added some Rancho RS5000 shocks.
you should get one of those three sided ones :) just sayin. and as far as common courtesy to other drivers to remove your hitch...umm how about they be courteous enough to pay the f*** attention and not hit your truck.

You should replace the rear with plate now then you can save up for a front plate bumper down the road. Imo it wouldn't look that weird with just the rear plate bumper.

Do rear plate bumpers affect my factory towing hitch?

That depends on what bumper you get, some come with an integrated hitch receiver so you would just have to remove the factory hitch and you would still be able to use your truck to tow.
