    Postpartum psychosis is a very dangerous meantal condition/break down. There have been cases like this in the past, in which the woman has no control over her own thoughts. Some women in the past have belived they were protecting their children from the devil, or being told from God to kill their child. Please do not think I am justifying her actions, just offering a little insight to what it can make someone, who may be relativly normal, do. Its very rare, but symptoms include deep depression, saying irational things about the baby, not bonding, or wanting to hold it, and in many cases, the mother could do a couple "Little" things to cause harm to the baby, but not cause a fatality. FWIW, Male Drs. are horrible at identifying this condition in new mothers, and tend to write things off as "Baby Blues", or "wanting attention", as opposed to knowing the real symptoms.

    Im giving this info, as I know there are some members who are expecting a new baby in the near future, and if they dont know about this, they should.
