Based on the previous gens, I doubt a difference will be noticed.

Both Whelen and Federal Signal offer something similar our local PD has them, but that is attached NOT built-in.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
A little harder on the passenger side if you don't have a passenger.

Those fins will remain, it's the flat space above that will house the lights.

Realistically tho I'd imagine a good coat of wax or rainx would solve a lot of mud/bug guts issues...no different than being on a muddy trail and having to occasionally get out and clean off your headlights

Yes actually built-in to that spot, anything and everything I do to this truck will either look factory or it won't happen. I could draw something up and would want as many interested to have access. I'm not looking for money, just want a custom/personalized truck if others want the option they need to start making phone calls and reaching out to vendors just like I do. All Tacos should have these but I have no intent on making or selling, I share whether that's good or bad -wife says bad- what I come up with in my head. If I don't get it out of my head, I get a headache, I hate headaches.

Or you can do like I'm going to do, the whole truck will have a nano-ceramic coating applied to protect the entire exterior with a special film protecting all clear plastic, grill, A-pillar surround, mirrors etc. The product is called Ceramic Pro, not cheap but it works. the company doing it is part of the larger group helping me make this truck more a technology demonstrator than a typical custom Taco.

I was thinking for the average person

i think your idea is great, go for it.

I had a similar idea, but only to mount the light in front of the side mirror. similar effect, slightly different location.

I think you'll find the market quite receptive once it exists, especially if the pricing is reasonable

The decision to bring to market won't be mine I'm a retired electrical contractor, I used to build things not manufacture or sell them. It surely does look like a lot of interest and would hope if it works out as planned someone will take a positive light -pun intended- to the idea and bring it to the masses. My wife gets really pissed at me because I don't patent my ideas before sharing them, I remind her how much it costs and the time involved all the while people with needs/wants they don't even know they have are suffering. What kind of man would I be to let people suffer? Ya know she never finds that explanation funny at all, all hell another night sleeping in the garage with all my...............tools! YES!!!
