    Simple questions...

    1. Do ditch lights create hood glare?

    2. Driving, Flood, Hyperspot...?

Very little hood glare but think of it this way. You already have lights that aim forward and a longer bar is better suited to that anyway. Aim these off to the side just a bit to illuminate the sides of the road and no glare plus you'll spot more cool stuff.

I already have a forward facing light bar in spot that out throws my high beams, was looking for more of a flood(close up) light and fully intend to aim them to the sides a bit.

    Glare-yes, when pointed directly ahead.

Mine are pointed slightly to the side so glare isn't a big issue. If you plan on running flood pattern lights, point them to the sides and you should be okay.

So if you had to pick D2's for ditch lights what would it be (Driving, Flood, Hyperspot, etc)? I'm looking for real world experiences, not guessing opinions.

Floods work well for me. I can't tell you if hyperspot would be better because I'm not going to sell my arm and left testicle to get Rigid brand LEDs.

Anyone else have experience with the different light options for this application?

Iv got some spot pods mounted on cbi ditch light brackets i ran them straight ahead never had issue with glare i have found that even with the stock headlights and no other bars the ditch lights are more useful aimed down and to the sides. Hence the name ditch lights. But the aiming to the sides allowed me to see around corners at night

Thanks for the feed back. I ended up ordering the "Driving beam" D2's(on a great Cyber Monday sale). I'll report back after install and use with a review of the beam pattern for this location

Here is a pic of spots, there is a little glare but you can't really see it that bad from the drivers seat.

If you want some light off the sides but not sure about the glare of ditch lights and want some room to adjust then put a pair of duallys on the ends of your roof mount -- works well for me anyway....just an idea....

Love them but also want to check out getting these:

    http://www.cbioffroadfab.com/products/2nd-gen-toyota-tacoma-products/t2-ditch-light-brackets/

and putting them on the same switch as the "alley lights" I have mounted on top. I have adjusted them a few times but am happy with them now. Just about to bust some mods to the truck -- it's a lot of fun but has been a little quiet of late. If I had my way - I 'd add the ditch lights, the 20" grille light with grille, snorkel, hood blackout and drawers.....who knows - might just happen sooner than later!!

Gotta say --- I LOVE THIS!!
