Or… you could get another crappy set, throw an AirPod in one and watch it go.

You could always use some red loctite on them.

I have SS3s and have security bolts on the pod to pod brackets , and another security nut on the pod mount to ditch light bracket like pictured.
Hopefully it makes it enough of a pain for them to just move on to the next car.. hopefully.

    nuts.jpg

I have some ssc2s I plan on mounting as backup lights on my rack- but I noticed DD sells a security kit for it now. seems like a simpler route Ill go with.

I bought those double stack security washers above and wasn't able to get them to clear the hood under the ditch light bracket. They're designed to prevent sign theft.

I ended up ordering some 10x32 x 3/8" Torx button head bolts from Fastenere.com for the sides of the Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro's.

    https://www.fastenere.com/10-32-button-head-torx-drive-security-machine-screws-stainless-steel-18-8

Torx bit included if bought from Fastenere.

If somebody wants them bad enough they'll take them. If I were to do it again I'd just order some cheap ditch lights.

I should add that Home Depot or Lowes doesn't sell this type of hardware, so you'll have to order from Amazon, Fastenere or some other source.

While they are not new, a Remington 870 Wingmaster, utilized at the appropriate time and place, is an outstanding theft deterrent.

If I could, I would. Getting out of the ghetto saved my ass.
Agreed - My cheapest rent was in the hood too.
But I bounced out for $75 a month more (in 1997 dollars).
And six month later signed a lease on a 1500sqft house with a two car garage in a nice community for $100 a month more than my 1100sqft ghetto apartment.
    Gunspoint Houston to The Woodlands.

It cost me $1,200 a year more but I lost at least that much if not more in stolen bicycles, furniture, groceries out of my car when unloading, and damage to my vehicles.

Maybe there's an opportunity here. Magnetic battery operated led ditch lights? Put them on when your actually using them. They would last longer out of the constant weather and also be not there to steal when your vehicle is parked. They could be a bit inconvenient if you use them with your drls on road, not really ditch lights then though.
