Fog lights and lights actually pointed down at the ditch have been good for me on a lot of thick forested roads to avoid the deer as much as they have offroad in the Utah desert. I've come to prefer Diode Dynamics for fog replacements, and the DD or the BD single LED pods do well in hood mounts for ditch illumination.

Whatever you decide, I gotta throw out a recommendation to purchase from @memario1214 and Hotshot Offroad. Taken care of me and some of my friends multiple times, always a happy customer.

@Fishersehorn31 I use them on our winter/ice roads up here. In the winter we get 4 hrs sunlight per day, so the more light we can get to illuminate the area the better.

I'd strongly consider Morimoto's banger fog pods for ditch lights. The TIR optics will minimize light spill on the hood which is very important for night vision, like Diode Dynamics. But unlike Diode Dynamics the Morimotos will have a hot spot for better distance projection vs DD while covering a wider area than DD driving. Unless interested in extreme forward spot, I think the Morimoto 'fogs' (not actually designed to be a fog) are some of the best pod patterns for an A-pillar light.

I've been very happy with my Diode Dynamics ss3 pro ditch lights in selective yellow, ss3 max fogs in selective yellow and oem led headlights. If anything, a white driving pattern light bar to supplement the headlights would be ideal.

Selective yellow is fantastic for cutting through dust, fog, ect, but sometimes I leave them off as they can overpower or hinder the white led headlights. I still recommend amber, selective yellow, ect over white for ditch and fog lights 100% though.

Light up the day with BD/Rigid/KC.
Used all the time when offroad in Moab at night. Headlights don't cut it in pitch dark.
BD pros get my vote for ditch. Amber at the pillar and below, white on the roof was my rule of thumb.

Pffff squadron pros all the way. Recently swapped from rigid d series and it was well worth the change.

if you enjoy the look of a police squad car…no thanks! And white? Are you trying to blind everyone on the trail, and have zero visibility through dust?

Seems like everyone has you covered on light opinions...

As far as brackets, I like the Rago low-profile brackets. They put the light well outside your field of view.

I have a 42" roof bar to blind everyone with. Squadrons are quite small the cop car look is xl80's or any of the LP series.
As for dust if your running any light above your headlights in fog/dust/snow you need to revisit the understanding of lighting as nothing should be over your hood line in those situations.
These are for widening the highbeam pattern to the ditches at ranger for deer detection. I have ss3 fogs and a 30"amber bar for trail days and inclement weather.

High and white distance, low and amber close and wide

Smart choice! Just ensure they’re the brightest, most obnoxious, and completely unnecessary lights in existence, and you will fit right in.

your “ditch” lights are pointing straight, and not facing where “ditches” tend to be.
