Diverdale's 2015 build/bs

Ok, I'm officially starting this build/bs thread. I've had the truck a little over a week now so I guess it's time . It's a 2015 SSM Off Road DCSB. I have only done a few things so far but I do intend on a lift, wheels/tires, and some other popular mods. Not going to be doing tons of wheeling...mostly towing our camper and exploring national forests and such. This post will be the 'tracker' with images to follow.

Not a lot going on at the moment. Did manage to Derp my front badge. Waiting on the rest of the stereo upgrades to arrive.

 

Added my G-Tek Fab door sill protectors.

 

AUX Fuse Box Build

The last of the bits came in today and I made a tiny bit of progress. The metri-pack crimps were challenging at first but I only messed up a couple before I got it figured out. I recommend putting them into the back of the bussman without the relays in place. They are a tight fit and having the relays in make it that much more difficult. Like stated in the original write up, they are unidirectional so you can't put them in backwards...but they do take some pressure to get in place. They will make a click when they're home.

STEP 1 -- Switch Harness
Here is the beginning of the switch harness. I just did the connections to the bussmann. Will add the connector on the other end tomorrow.


Connector is on and 12AWG jumpers installed


Lots of extra connectors and such....I'm available for hire if anyone's interested

Got switch panel finished and installed.

Finally got round to installing my 20" led bar behind the lower bumper.

First removed grill,bumper,and crash bar (couldn't get a drill behind it for mounting holes)


Then drilled and tapped mounting holes (m6)


Reinstalled crash bar with mounting bracket attached and double checked position


Ran wires to the Bussman,tested,and reinstalled grill and bumber


I'll get night shots at some point but it's a 20" light bar, it's pretty bright

 

Got my color match grill installed


Lift should be here (hopefully) next week

Also received my cheapo flush mounts...they look pretty nice



and made a pigtail for hooking them up to my switch
