Cool, thanks so much for sharing this by the way. Currently running through a few design / analysis cycles using these mounting plates as a starting point.

After another cycle I got them locked in, and started pricing them out...way more expensive to make your own than to just get COTS right now because of the price of DOM tubing

Yay! My slider project is complete. When I pulled off my OEM step/running board things I really liked how it made my truck looked. I wanted something more sleek but offering exceptional protection underneath. My uncle is a master fabricator/machinist/builder and when I showed him the bolt on plates he said we could do it. They are heavy but I am certain they will survive the "rockapocalyspe," they are 1/4" flat steel for the plates, 2x2 cold rolled for the stand-offs, 2x3 cold rolled that has been boxed in for the protection and finally 1.75" DOM for the tubing.

1st - excellent write up. Great work and much appreciation for this contribution.

    2nd - question:
I haven't scoured the last 5 pages of this thread.
But has anyone posted an exact hardware set for these plates? If not I'll be making my list tomorrow morning :)

Thinking about starting this project... I don't see much info for the dimensions of the tubing. I can design my own, but does anyone have general dimensions or suggestions for how to measure things such as appropriate distance from the bracket to the square tube, tubing length, and kick out spot/size? Thanks!

some crude dims from mine. Intentionally vague but a starting point. I want to see you guys get creative with these and not turn out cookie cutter sliders.

Everything looks great and have my plates printed out, starting work on the actual slider itself now. One question regarding mounting in the front (smaller plate) how did you mount the bolts and access them to tighten? Seems like that’s a solid tube and the holes line up great but not sure how I’ll tighten or hold the bolts. Cheers

You need to weld 2 nuts on a plate and slide the plate into the boxed section of the frame.

Anyone have a favorite place for laser cutting/bending these plates?

Or is it generally better to find a local place for this due to shipping?
