    I didn't want to lose my seats with a full molle and couldn't justify 80$ for a Greyman plastic panel so I welded up my own rack. I'm using some hidden bolt holes behind the seat belts for the lower. My question is what do you all recommend for the top? Self tapping screws. Not sure what is behind there.

    Any ideas are welcome. Going to mount a Pelican 1200 first aid kit on the lower portion. I'll need a little bit of room for Molle straps and quickfist bolts, so I'll space it away from the panel 5mm with rubber washers. Just trying to get some recs from others who have tried similar projects.

    Pull that plastic panel off and see whats what/how much clearance you have. Depending on the load that rack has to bear, you could through-bracket that plastic.

    Nice job!

    Not my pictures, but this is what it looks like behind the plastic. Looks like its quite a ways until you get to something substantial. I'm thinking it might be easier to just pop rivet the top of the rack to the plastic, to keep it from moving too much laterally. The bottom bolts are M10 or something large, so it should just be a matter of keeping the thing from swaying.

    Also, might try a self tapping screw threw the plastic right into the hump in the metal panel that the child seat mounts are on. Right about where the cut out is on the sound dampening panel seen in the fourth picture.

    Forgot to post a finished picture for those who are interested. 100% glad I did this versus buying a plastic molle insert. 20190527_163938.jpg

    I do not hang heavy items off my panel, just normal loaded molle pouches but the screws into the plastic panel only have held up great so far.

    @Westernhorses

    got it mocked up, rivets instead of welds. how did you anchor the top? i'm going to add a few more cross bars, paint it black. space it and add some foam backing to prevent rattling.

    What hardware did you used to mount it?
