I love this mod but I think it will look a lot better with switch backs so it matches the OEM LED DRL.

So you have 4 relays if I’m reading that right? It looks like they are not the regular 5 pin relays.

Would anyone like to get paid for their time making one of these?

These diagrams read like gibberish to me.

I would pay someone to do this mod for me.

I haven't gotten around to it yet. I understand how to get them as DRL and flash for blinkers with a 5-pin NC relay, but I want them to flash when I get out and lock the truck.

Power to the bulb through the NC side. Then using the turn signal bulb (+) wire for the relay coil, I'm just having a little trouble on how to make them flash with the truck off, since the relay will still switch but there wont be any power (with the truck off).

Kind of understand this, just wondering what type of relays are used. And it looks like there's 4 relays if i'm not mistaking

Did you see the video from Aluttropp on page 2? His blinkers flash when he locks the truck. I want mine to function just like that.

Sorry for the absence guys! 3.5 year old son and one due April has kept me pretty busy! To the previous post, 4 relays are correct. I used a 4-DPDT relay board and a project box for this mod. Here are some pics and a link for the relay board. You could also use 8 SPDT relays to save a few bucks, but it would take up more room..

    Relay board:

Hey sorry guys, I’m a little confused with the thread. Which relay diagram should be used for this mod, the first or second image? Will both work?

Will these diagrams make it so that the lights are essentially always on and signaling just flips one of them off and on while the other drl stays on?

Also I have resistors for led turn signals? Should these be installed before or after the relay?

Thanks in advance, I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while.

No need to do this if you buy VLED V6 triton switchbacks, that is what I am doing and all you have to do is tap into the DRL wire and the white will come on when the OEM DRL comes on and the amber turn signal will work like normal. Just my $.02

Interesting, I like this idea. Where do you have your resistor installed in relation to the wiring?

I bought some GTR armor series LEDs, wondering if their switchback version would work for this as well?

VLED V6 triton have built in resistors. Just have to make sure to get this base base adapter https://www.vleds.com/shop-products/v6-triton/parts/base-adapters/v6-base-7443-drl.htmlbecause it has the wire built in that allows you to tap into a 12v power source.

They come with a Diming wire attached to the bulb that you can attach to your headlights so they dim when your headlights come on, if not yes they will be very bright at night!

The DRL wire. I smoked my turn signals a little too much.. I plan to remove the paint to make the turn signal/DRL brighter. Here is a pic.

Nice! Did you use the base adapter that you mentioned above?
I got in touch with vled and they said I need the DRL wiring kit in order for the switchbacks to be used with my DRLs.

Here’s a link to the DRL wiring kit:
