Can anyone recommend some bed liner paint?

My beds pretty rough and faded from heavy use. I want to dress it up some but I don't know what would adhere well because it's composite. Any recommendations?

I don't want the bed mat. I want to coat it with something.

I asked my local Line-x shop about it and the owner said he won't do them because it doesn't adhere very well. I'm sure there will be some contrary opinions/stories, so YMMV.

That makes sense, I'm sure the bed is nonreactive in the same way kayaks arent. Most stuff doesnt stick to them

It's kind of unfortunate. I'd get the bed done in a heartbeat. Mine's pretty beat up even with the bed mat. I'd also like to shoot whomever came up with the composite bed.

I did some research on this recently and there are definitely guys that have had it done. Seems to run around $500 and comes with no warranty.

I have zero doubt that there are folks that have done it. I'm pretty sure my Line-x dude stopped doing it because of the warranty returns. Maybe I'll just replace the bed in a few years ;)

I'm assuming you have one? How well do they hold up? I use my bed for a lot of yard related crap (hauling equipment, dirt, mulch, etc) and always worried that they just wouldn't hold up to me.

    Like, so many.
I love the composite bed. My old metal bed looked horrendous.

Metal beds look great with a spray-on bedliner though! Composite look like doo-doo without!

    None as of yet
its been done. From what I've seen is prep is key with the composite beds. Lots of sanding and roughing up the surface to give mechanical adhesion vs chemical. I would say look in the second gen forum to see what the longevity is. The longest a 3rd gen could have had it is only 4 years which inst long at all when talking bed liner. 2nd gens have had the composite bed for maybe 10 years or more iirc.

Well I want to be able to put a snowmobile in the back of mine from time to time. Doubt the bed rug will hold up to that and an uncoated bed is going to get killed by the carbides and studs. Seems like I'm pretty much shit out of luck.

Easy fix for that. sheet of plywood bolted down to the bed. You can cover it with carpet if your want it to look better, but the wood will protect the bed and keep the studs from getting damaged too.

Yeah, plywood will be last resort. Wanted a more permanent solution though. Also need to figure out something for the tailgate but I suppose the plywood could solve that too.

I bet you could cut a sheet of plywood the same shape and size as the oem bed mat then have it sprayed in liner.

Why plywood that will get chewed up, splinter and rot instead of a rubber stall mat?

Who cares what the bed looks like. Put a bed mat down that you can shine up all you want.
