Looking to build/weld/create a bed rack for my 2013 Tacoma short bed but have some questions on what y'all think about how to actually fasten it to the bed sides. I already have bed stiffeners installed because I currently have a Leer Topper with a RTT and Batwing awning.

I want to sell the topper and lower the RTT level with the cab. Still engineering a way to include the Batwing (but that's a different discussion).

Most of the ones I've seen attach to the track system in the bed. I have seen a couple made with legs that drop down to the bed for support. I will say I'm looking for a topper for my 2009 short bed tacoma when you decide to sell yours.
