I installed some beefy Harbor Freight D-ring anchors on the sides of the bed. I hate these composite beds but its what we have to work with.

I backed them with a 3x1 steel plate, and secured with 1/2" carriage bolts. They seem strong enough to secure my dirt bikes but are they? When I pull on them, there is some flex of the composite material. The anchors are solid, but I'm just wondering about the bed itself. Over time, as the bed becomes more brittle this may be issue.

    What do you boys think?

Why don't you take a pic or two of your mod so we can see what it looks like?

This is what some folk have done.

You can also look into a tie-down bar like this.

I have both; The tie-down bar for bikes, and the d-rings for other stuff. The tie-down bar also has a bunch of anchor points on it which is great.

Ok, I'll post up some pics.

Thanks for that link. They're using smaller D Rings. The ones I use are 1" and super solid. Aint nothing short of a power saw or cutting torch is taking these off.
