Looks awesome man. May have to go down this road myself. I've had a set of sliders in my garage for over a year that I bought for my first gen, then sold it and have been scared to weld them to my new 13

I have updated POST #45 to cover two items:

    1. The only files I'm offering up for free are the frame plate files. Not the complete sliders that I have on my truck

    2. I am willing to entertain the idea of designing one-off sliders that you can build/have built based on the files you get from me.

Please read the updated post #45 for additional details.

LOL! Those sliders also look like they would have a lot of volume if you ever decide to run OBA.

Yeah, would definitely have to do an air test with soapy water on the welds. Also gotta make sure there is a place thick enough to tap for a nipple or weld on a bung.

My sliders would probably make a fine dog whistle if you tried to fill them with air. I'll get better at the welding stuff eventually!

    Ooh, shiny! :D

Do you already have a plan for the actual slider or are you going to wing it and see what happens?

Yes I have a plan, luckily I work in steel manufacturing so all the equipment material and tools are at my disposal.
My plan is to do a slider and step built in one unit, how to explain this hopefully it will come across correctly.
What I am envisioning is a round tubing slider typical with no kick out. With angled cuts (were steps will be) which will be plated on the sides and lower tread plate for the bottom. It may need some shallow bending on the tread area to keep the rigidity for the high lift and leaving the main tube (under rocker) fully intact without any drops were the steps will be (level on bottom) . Hope that makes sense.
Most of my offroading is threw heavily wooded areas. Logs and branches are my enemy!

Kinda something like this but using tubing with the step.

Yes like that but with the step portions recessed down into the tubing. Probably use expanded metal for filler plates. This is WI and got to loose the snow and salt as much as possible.

Anything around 80" long should be okay. Much longer and you'll have to space them down quite a bit to clear the bed and front fender. Mine are pretty much right at 80", FYI.

WisTaco, that sounds like a good plan on the sliders. Some steps could be nice. I'm wondering what it'll be like to get in and out of my truck and around the sliders once it's lifted a few inches.

Ya I got 2.5' of lift and its just to the point of needing a step. Sure I/we can get in with no problems but you butt rides the edge of the seat pretty hard getting in. Not the tallest peeps in the world both me n the wife are 5"7' and pretty sure we'll benefit from a step.

My seat looks like it has 40,000 miles on it...but the truck only has 22,000. My FJC was the same. My first gen taco seats wore MUCH better. I remember several FJC owners getting new seat upholstery under warranty because they wore so bad.

I don't see why they wouldn't! Their HD and super HD versions have frame plates similar to these already. But their basic version could be adapted by cutting off their L brackets and welding the round tubing straight to these frame plates.

Was thinking I would strait to it. Why cut it off?

That's what I had planned for my beefed sliders, but the legs are pretty far apart, and the plate is a bit too short. I guess it depends on the slider. I might cut the first L bracket to fit, and butt weld the frame plate to the bracket, and just bolt the last leg on. All the other L brackets will be cut off.
