OUCH! That looks like it might hurt.

Yeah, the Weatherpack terminals are different than the Metri-pack.

Weatherpack is kind of like a hollow tube.

Metri-pack is more like a flat blade screwdriver.

I do, but that recommendation is only for removing the Metri-pack terminals from the RTMR. I use the official Metri-pack tool for Metri-pack connectors and the Weather-pack tool for its connectors.

Cute, I keep most sizes of the K&S precision brass tubing around for a variety of projects. I'm sure one would do as well.

I know exactly what you mean. I am completely and totally new to wiring anything into an auto. So, this is not going to come natural for me.

Read other build threads too, I'm several months into reading this and just a few weeks ago found out how and why I'd want a couple 5 pin relays instead. I already had the Bussman and 5 - 4 pin relays so I've a couple extras (or maybe use two external relay mounts)but at least I haven't assembled it so I won't need to take it apart. Tacozord did(and still does) an amazing job with the op and follow up advice but his layout is tailored to the goal of 5 relayed switches in the sunglasses holder. The better you understand how it all works the better you'll be able to meld ideas from other build threads to truly customize your rig while keeping it organized. With a base model Tacoma I've an embarrassment of riches in empty switch locations but I still want to have each group have some internal logic. Also, the dash illumination is white but all the aux switches are green and I want to change those LEDs to white. In most cases it should be fairly simple and I'll post a how-to based on seat heaters.

Haha i did that. For me, the longest part was verifying i ordered everything, had hit quantity minimums, etc.
Once i had the parts on hand, that stuff was easy

This is a great write up. I've mainly been reading the first portion for the build, and I have a few questions. I apologize up front if the answers are buried in here somewhere and I missed it.
    1) @Sandman614 builds a great RTMR. I do like how the switch harness was made in this setup. With that being said my RTMR is already built. How hard is it to pop out the switch wires IOT replace it with a switch harness that I make like in this writeup?
    2) I have the Rigid SRM backup lights. I have a 3 position switch. I will have it set for manual on; manual off; and On with Reverse. The relays are all 4 pin relays. I think the Relay that comes with the SRM is a 5 pin? I take it I'm going to have to pull the RTMR apart IOT make one a 5 pin?

    Thanks for the help/insight.

The fifth pin location on the rtmr has is covered by an adhesive plastic that you can cut away with a razor knife.

You only need to do that If you use a 5 pin relay.

Mako99 mentioned using a 5-pin relay and I'm using a couple in mine. For simple spst(off/on) switching they're unnecessary but for more complicated switching they're handy. There are even more complex relays that can be fused through the bussman but mounted separately.
